Thousands of fresh fruits and vegetables pass through Frutura’s facilities daily, destined for retailers across Austria. However, as demand grew and operations became more complex, outdated systems slowed things down, risking efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
To stay ahead, Frutura partnered with Axians to implement a cutting-edge digital transformation that would bring speed, transparency, and intelligence to their entire supply chain. Indeed, Axians implemented SAP S/4HANA ERP, a state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning solution.
To minimize disruption to Frutura’s operations, this implementation integrated all processes and data into a single real-time suite, covering critical areas such as packaging, cooling, commissioning systems, emergency power generators, robotics, lighting systems, and ripening chambers for exotic fruits.
Post-implementation, Frutura experienced significant improvements in operational efficiency and data transparency. In addition, the integrated system provided real-time insights into their processes, enabling better decision-making and responsiveness to market changes. This digital transformation positioned Frutura to meet future challenges with a robust and scalable IT infrastructure.
Katrin Hohensinner-Häupl, Managing Director of Frutura Fruit & Vegetable Competence Center GmbH, testified:
Axians’ speed and flexibility are remarkable. We ourselves were only just beginning to develop complex requirements – Axians supported us with confidence and ensured that all requirements were implemented quickly. During the introduction, many adjustments were necessary, which were optimally incorporated thanks to excellent communication with SAP Consulting. Axians demonstrated its ability to implement and thus ensured that the delivery of fruit and vegetables to food retailers ran smoothly. Together, we mastered this challenging time well!”
